The opportunity

VEEM Ltd has a great opportunity for you to join the company in a senior Management role. The role will be responsible for Management of the entire accredited and fully Integrated Management Systems. The role is supported by a small team of QHSE specialists and is primary designed to drive a positive culture of Quality, Continuous improvement, Safety compliance and responsible environmental managed in a heavy manufacturing setting. You will be joining a young highly skilled and passionate team with access to advanced engineering capability, state-of-the‑art manufacturing technology, and internationally recognized marine products. As well the role will be supported for up to a 12‑month period by the current Incumbent who is transitioning to retirement. The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will provide strategic leadership while remaining actively involved in supporting our operational teams.



You will oversee a comprehensive set of ISO-certified management systems, a suite of US defense accreditations and ensure compliance with legislative and client requirements. You and your team will lead audits and investigations and drive continual improvement across our Manufacturing business. This is an opportunity to play a key leadership role within a growing business and to help shape the future of the company’s Management systems.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and continually improve the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems.

Maintain compliance to our accredited systems. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO27001 and ISO17025.

Develop, review and implement QHSE policies, procedures and management plans.

Provide leadership, coaching and support to operational managers and project teams.

Lead incident investigations and ensure effective corrective and preventative actions are implemented.

Manage internal and external audits and client compliance requirements.

Monitor HSEQ performance and prepare reports for senior leadership.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and client requirements.

Mentor and develop the QHSE team while promoting a positive safety culture.

What We're Looking For





5+ years’ experience in a QHSE leadership or management role within a mechanical engineering design, defense, engineering service or manufacturing organization.

Demonstrated experience leading integrated management systems.

Strong knowledge of Australian WHS, Environmental and Quality legislation and standards.

Proven leadership and people management capability.

Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and coaching skills.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

A proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Skills and Tasks

Internal and external audit management.

Incident investigation and root cause analysis.

Risk management and assurance.

Development of HSEQ policies, procedures and management plans.

Regulatory compliance management.

Safety leadership and organizational culture development.

Reporting, analysis and presentation of key business KPI’s to the pier group and executive management.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Must-Haves

Experience implementing and maintaining integrated management systems.

Lead Auditor qualification (or ability to obtain).

Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance and defense clearance.

Current Driver's License.

Diploma or Degree in Quality Management or Work Health & Safety, Environmental Management or a related engineering discipline.

Quality management experience in the mechanical or manufacturing

Return to Work Coordinator certification.
