A national veterinary network is seeking an experienced small animal veterinarian with advanced soft tissue surgical skills and orthopaedic experience for a unique role based in Victoria. Combining a strong surgical caseload with travel to clinics across Australia, this position is ideal for a surgeon who enjoys advanced clinical work, mentoring colleagues and making a genuine impact across multiple practices.

Based primarily in a well-equipped referral hospital in Melbourne’s north, you’ll work with access to advanced imaging, including CT, to support case work‑ups, surgical planning and continuity of care. You’ll perform advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures, including TPLOs, while managing a varied caseload alongside an experienced clinical team.

In addition to your referral work, you’ll travel to selected clinics within the network to perform surgery, support complex case management and provide practical, hands‑on mentoring to veterinarians. This is an prospect to help strengthen surgical capability across multiple clinics while building strong relationships with local teams.

collaboration with referring veterinarians and opportunities to develop the skills and confidence of colleagues through real case experience.

To be successful, you’ll be an experienced small animal veterinarian with advanced soft tissue surgical skills and orthopaedic experience, including TPLOs. You’ll be confident managing complex cases, enjoy working collaboratively with a range of teams and be willing to travel as part of this national role.

Experience using advanced imaging, particularly CT, will be highly regarded.

An attractive salary of $180,000 to $250,000 plus super is on offer, depending on experience, qualifications and skill set. Travel and accommodation are fully covered when visiting network clinics.
