The Abbey Museum of Art and Archaeology are seeking a Marketing and Digital Communications Coordinator. This person will play a key role in supporting the Abbey Museum’s public presence, audience engagement, and organisational communications across both digital and traditional platforms.

Working collaboratively across Museum departments, events, exhibitions, retail, education, tourism, and public programs, the role coordinates marketing activity by developing and implementing the marketing and communications plan through scheduling, digital communications, social media strategy, media placement, brand consistency, and audience engagement initiatives across the organisation.

Reporting to the Manager -Events and Public Programs, the position supports the delivery of clear, cohesive, and professionally managed communications while contributing to the organisation’s evolving marketing, digital activation, and long-term audience growth objectives.

This full-time role requires a highly organised, proactive, and collaborative individual with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines within a dynamic operational environment.

To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Bring





- Demonstrated experience and tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, digital engagement, social media coordination, or campaign management.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and communication streams simultaneously.
- Outstanding personal communication skills and ability to maintain composure under pressure.
- High level written and verbal communication skills with robust copywriting and editorial standards.
- Experience coordinating digital communications including websites, email marketing platforms, social media scheduling tools, livestreaming or digital engagement platforms, and online audience activities.
- Understanding of branding, audience engagement, marketing workflows, and communication consistency across multiple platforms.
- Ability to work collaboratively with operational teams, creative contractors, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt within a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Experience within tourism, arts, museums, events, hospitality, education, or visitor-focused organisations is highly regarded.
- Commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and contributing positively to organisational culture and public engagement outcomes.
- Basic photography and videography skills, with the ability to capture and edit quick-turnaround content in-house.
- Awareness of platform trends, algorithm shifts and internet culture, with the confidence to respond to organic opportunities in real time.
- Ability to read and interpret cross- platform performance metrics to identify content and audience growth opportunities and shift resourcing accordingly.
