DSE Transport is an Australian owned transport company running metro, linehaul and interstate freight out of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. We have grown quickly over the last two years and we are adding to the Sydney operations team.

This is a 9am to 6pm role, Monday to Friday. If you have worked in transport you will know how rare that is. You get the back half of the day, the busy part, without the 5am alarm.

About the role

You will sit on the Sydney metro operations desk at Minchinbury, reporting to the Branch Manager and working alongside our allocators. You are the person keeping the afternoon moving: jobs going out, drivers tracked, customers updated, and nothing left hanging at the end of the day.

What you will be doing

- Allocating customer jobs to drivers and tracking them through the day
- Answering calls and emails from customers and drivers, with a 15 minute response standard
- Watching unassigned jobs and keeping runs on schedule
- Keeping job notes, bookings and driver availability accurate in our system
- Chasing outstanding runsheets and paperwork so the admin team can bill cleanly
- Daily compliance and fatigue checks
- Logging customer service issues, delays and breakdowns before you go home
- Covering the allocators when they are on leave

What you will bring

- Some experience in transport, logistics, freight forwarding,



warehousing or dispatch. You do not need to have run a desk on your own, but you should know what a runsheet and a POD are
- The ability to stay calm with a phone in one hand and three jobs to move
- Explicit, direct communication. Our drivers are subcontractors and employees from a lot of different backgrounds, and being easy to deal with matters
- Accuracy. In this business a wrong address or a missed note costs real money
- Comfort with software. We built our own transport management system and driver app, so you will not be working off a whiteboard and a spreadsheet
