Join us as a Senior Mining Registrar in Brisbane, Mareeba, Townsville or another NRMMRRD office location. Lead tenure administration activities, assess resource authority applications, provide expert legislative advice and support the delivery of sustainable exploration and mining development across Queensland.

The Georesources division capitalises on Queensland’s minerals, coal, petroleum and gas resources. Mining is the number one wealth generating sector in the state and the work done in this division plays a key role in regulating the resources sector, while also supporting industry development and sector growth. As a Senior Mining Registrar, you will play a key role in supporting the administration of Queensland's resource authorities and facilitating sustainable exploration and mining development across the State. Working within the Mineral Assessment Hub, you will lead operational activities, support staff and contribute to the consistent application of legislation, policies and procedures relating to resource authority assessments.

In this role, you will manage tenure administration processes, assess and process resource authority applications, provide legislative and policy advice, and contribute to the development of operational practices and procedures. You will supervise staff, support workload management and provide leadership on operational, financial and human resource matters. The role also requires strong stakeholder engagement, representing the department at forums and maintaining productive relationships with industry, government agencies and clients.





Success in this role will come from your ability to lead and support a team, analyse complex information, interpret legislation and provide practical advice. You will demonstrate sound judgement, build effective relationships and deliver quality outcomes in a customer-focused environment.
