The Opportunity

Join our Technology Faculty as an Electronics, Systems Engineering Technician, supporting practical learning across Years 7-12, including VCE Systems Engineering. You will prepare and maintain equipment, assist with student projects, and provide technical support within specialist learning spaces. The role also oversees digital fabrication facilities, including 3D printers and laser cutters, ensuring equipment is safe, maintained, and ready for use.

The Role

The Electronics, Systems Engineering Technician plays a key role in supporting the delivery of practical and innovative learning programs within the Technology Faculty. Working across Years 7-12, including VCE Systems Engineering, the Technician provides specialist technical support to teachers and students, prepares and maintains equipment and learning resources, and assists with the operation of specialist workshops and laboratories.

The role supports a broad range of technology and engineering disciplines, including electronics, robotics, mechatronics and systems engineering, while also overseeing digital fabrication facilities such as 3D printers and laser cutters. Through effective equipment management, technical expertise and a strong commitment to safety,



the Technician helps create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that foster creativity, problem-solving and innovation.

Some duties you will be involved with but not limited to include:

- Prepare, maintain and manage electronic equipment, tools, components and resources for practical classes and student projects.
- Provide technical support for Electronics, Robotics, Mechatronics and VCE Systems Engineering programs.
- Assist students and staff with circuit construction, soldering, testing, troubleshooting and engineering project development.
- Support the use of microcontrollers, embedded systems and related technologies.
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot digital fabrication equipment, including 3D printers and laser cutters.
- Assist with CAD file preparation and digital manufacturing workflows.
- Source and maintain stock levels of components, materials and consumables.
- Conduct routine servicing, preventative maintenance and safety checks on equipment and specialist facilities.
- Maintain organised, safe and compliant workshops, laboratories and preparation areas.
- Support Occupational Health and Safety requirements, risk assessments and Safe Operating Procedures.
- Demonstrate and promote safe work practices to students and staff.
- Collaborate with teachers to support practical learning activities, assessments and project-based learning.




- Provide technical assistance for STEM initiatives, robotics programs, competitions and co-curricular activities.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and contribute to the continuous improvement of faculty resources and facilities.

What we are looking for

You will have experience in electronics, systems engineering, mechatronics or a related technical field, with solid practical problem-solving skills and a passion for supporting student learning. A collaborative organised and safety-focused approach, together with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, will be essential for success in this role.
