We are seeking a qualified baker to join our business. Hudaks Bakery is a small family owned and run business and has been baking in Mildura for 75 years. We have 2 retail stores and strong wholesale business, producing traditional country Australian bakery items from pastries, cakes and slices, to a range of bread products, all baked in house.
You must –
• Have baking/pastry cook qualification and relevant experience in bakery workplaces.
• Produce very high-quality product
• Be able to work efficiently, and without supervision
• Be skilled in the production of bread, pastries, cakes and slices
• Be reliable, mature and responsible
Duties –
• Baking and preparing rolls, muffins, cookies, pies, cakes, croissants, Danish pastry, scones, bars, quiche, Tarts, tartlets and other baked items.
• Reviewing production schedules to determine the variety and quantity of goods to be baked,
• Checking and assembling of raw materials and equipment needed for daily baking activities.
• Weighing, kneading, maturing,



cutting, mixing, placing, proofing, and shaping dough and preparing fillings for pastry.
• Forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of baked items like bread, muffins, pastries and other items.
• Icing, frosting, creaming, spreading, sprinkling, glazing and decorating baked items.
• Determining and monitoring baking time for items, oven temperatures and product appearance.
• Using, emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment; and operating machines.
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the cooking equipment and area; and following the occupational health and safety regulations.
• Examining and reporting any problems and needs of equipment, food supplies and other unusual conditions.

The position will be mostly weekdays; however, weekend work will be required on occasion. Successful applicants will strive for perfection, be able to multitask, have an eye for detail and treat the workplace like their own.

Salary - $80,000 - $85,000 per year
