Our client manufactures premium, high-risk ready-to-eat products for domestic and international customers. They are seeking a permanent full-time Senior Food Technologist who can turn customer ideas into commercially successful products while providing practical technical guidance across the business.

Working closely with senior management, customers, suppliers, production and engineering, you’ll lead development from concept through to launch. You’ll also guide the team to and maintain oversight of the site’s quality and food safety systems.

What you’ll do

Lead product development, including bench-top samples, formulations, sensory evaluation, production trials, shelf-life studies and commercialisation.

Work with customers to shape briefs, and with suppliers and procurement to assess ingredients and alternatives.

Improve existing products and manufacturing processes, balancing flavour, quality, cost and production efficiency.

Act as a technical expert and advisor to the leadership team on product, quality and food safety matters.

Mentor others and help build a positive culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

With the assistance of the team, you will oversee the Quality Management System and Food Safety Program, including HACCP audits, supplier approvals,



technical documentation, investigations and corrective actions.

Ensure products and processes meet customer, and regulatory requirements.

About you

Qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition or a related field.

Ideally at least five years’ experience across product development and quality roles in food manufacturing.

Demonstrated ability to take products from concept to launch, understand formulations and ingredient functionality.

Confident working with HACCP and food safety systems.

Experience in a high-care or ready-to-eat manufacturing environment is highly regarded.

Ability to problem-solve and communicate well with customers, support colleagues and enjoy seeing ideas succeed in production.
