About the role

This is an opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded analyst to take ownership of regulatory capital and solvency reporting, capital forecasting, stress testing and strategic capital planning. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you'll help shape capital management decisions, contribute to regulatory submissions, and support the ongoing development of our Capital Plan and ICAAP framework, delivering meaningful impact across the organisation.
What the role looks like
- Preparing and reviewing regulatory capital adequacy, solvency and prescribed capital amount calculations across Australia and New Zealand.
- Producing capital forecasts,
stress testing and scenario analysis to assess capital resilience and support strategic decision-making.
- Supporting the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Capital Management Plan and ICAAP framework.
- Preparing regulatory submissions and reports for APRA, RBNZ and other relevant stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Delivering insightful management reporting and analysis on capital positions, emerging risks and regulatory requirements.
- Partnering with Finance, Risk, Actuarial and Investment teams to support effective capital management and investment oversight.
- Identifying opportunities to enhance capital modelling, reporting processes and controls, driving continuous improvement across the function.
- Monitoring changes in regulatory requirements and industry developments to ensure ongoing compliance and best practice capital management.
What you'll bring
- Relevant Qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Studies, Economics, Mathematics or a related discipline.
- Insurance or Capital Management Experience gained in general insurance, regulatory capital, prudential reporting, actuarial finance, financial modelling or risk management.
- Strong Analytical & Financial Modelling Skills, with advanced Excel capabilities and the ability to build and maintain accurate,
auditable models.
- Technical Knowledge of Insurance Financials, including insurance liabilities, reinsurance, deferred tax, balance sheet movements and their impact on regulatory capital.
- Experience Interpreting Complex Requirements and applying regulatory, financial and business rules to capital forecasting, stress testing and reporting.
- A Strong Focus on Controls & Governance, with experience in reconciliations, issue investigation, documentation and maintaining robust audit trails.
- Excellent Communication & Stakeholder Management Skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts and collaborate effectively across Finance, Risk, Actuarial, Tax and broader business teams.
