Monash Health offers opportunities in line with the AMC PGY2 Framework. The Monash Health PGY2 program offers a structured and supportive transition from Internship to more independent clinical practice, aligned with the AMC's National Framework for Prevocational Medical Training (NFPMT). The program is designed to consolidate core clinical competencies while providing broad generalist exposure across acute, subacute and specialty services. PGY2 rotations will offer the following clinical exposure areas:

- - Undifferentiated illness patient care (A)
- - Chronic illness patient care (B)
- - Acute and critical illness patient care (C)

With access to a diverse case mix across Monash Health's extensive network, PGY2 trainees can explore vocational interests while building confidence in decision-making, teamwork and leadership. Dedicated education streams,

mentorship and wellbeing supports further ensure doctors are equipped to meet both current clinical demands and future training pathway goals.

Applications open 27 July 2026. Applications close 21 August 2026. Health service assessment period 24 August 2026. Match results published 23 September 2026.

Please note PGY2 positions are only available to PGY2 doctors who will hold AHPRA General Registration and have successfully completed their PGY1 training at the commencement of the next clinical year, that is, current Australian and New Zealand interns. International medical graduates who will not have General Registration with AHPRA are not eligible.
