We are seeking a skilled cook to join our team at Bani's Restaurant & Bar in Cowes.

Located at 10 Thompson Ave, Cowes, our Restaurant is a well-established eating place in Cowes. We take pride in providing exceptional food and service to our customers.

We would prefer applicants with a minimum of two years of experience in Greek Cuisine in our fast-paced kitchen, showcasing their skills and creativity.

Requirements

- Trade Qualification of Certificate III OR IV in Commercial Cookery or higher
- Proven experience as a Cook (minimum 2 years preferred), experience in a similar cuisine(Greek) is preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple orders
- Have a passion for cooking
- Be able to organise production schedules
- Have knowledge of Food Handling and Food Safety procedures
- Able to work well under pressure

Tasks

- Preparing and cooking various food items as per the menu
- Prepare daily production list
- Planning menus
- Estimate and manage stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimise food wastage
- Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
- Guiding and giving direction to other kitchen staff
- Ensure that all recipes, food preparations,



and presentations meet the business specifications and commitment to quality.
- Ensure that all stations remain stocked before and during the working period.
- Verify that other staff follow all recipes and portion servings correctly
- Ensuring proper sanitisation of working stations, storage area and the entire kitchen area.
- Places food and supplies orders as directed.
- Train kitchen staff and junior staff.
- Organise a kitchen meeting to discuss various problems and provide solutions
- Managing staff levels in the kitchen area

Schedule

- 8-hour shift (Thursday to Tuesday)- Servicing Hours 12 pm to 9 pm(1st May to 25th December each year)
- 8-hour shift (Wednesday to Tuesday)- Servicing Hours 12 pm to 9 pm (26th Dec to 30th April each year)
