Complete Staff Solutions is recruiting a Shared Services Support Officer for a Newcastle-based government organisation. This is a busy customer service role supporting both employees and members of the public by phone and live chat.

You’ll join a team that handles a wide range of enquiries and administrative requests. The role is available for an immediate start, subject to pre-employment checks.

What you’ll do

Respond to phone and live chat enquiries and aim to resolve them at first contact.

Process routine transactions accurately using established procedures.

Record customer interactions and work across several systems at once.

Identify enquiries that need to be escalated and work with your team to meet service targets.

What you’ll bring

Strong customer service and communication skills,



including the ability to handle a high volume of wide-ranging enquiries.

Confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.

Accurate typing and attention to detail. The role description specifies a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute with more than 85% accuracy.

Previous contact centre or shared services experience is preferred.

The details

This is a 35-hour-per-week role, working seven hours per day. You’ll work from the Newcastle office for approximately 50% of your time, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays mandatory in the office . Interviews will be held via Microsoft Teams, and two references are required.
