ROLE – Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

SALARY - $170,000 - $220,000 per annum, dependent on experience

TYPE – Permanent

LOCATION – Adelaide, SA

My client designs and manufactures a range of specialist industrial equipment. They are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Adelaide on a permanent basis.

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

· At least 7 years of experience in a similar Mechanical Design Engineering position

· Previous experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication or fluid systems

· Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar

· Highly skilled with 3D CAD, ideally Inventor, SolidWorks, Fusion 360 etc.

· Good theoretical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances

· Strong practical skills with hand calculations, verification, validation, FEA, testing and prototyping

· Experienced designing products from concept to production





· Able to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgets

· Able to maintain technical documentation and BOM entry

· Able to work well individually as well as part of a team

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

· Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings

· Managing full lifecycle design projects

· Collaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects

· Liasing with manufacturing providers

· Being involved in final assembly

· Creating required documentation for design and project reports

· Updating 3D models and drawings

· Inputting parts into the MRP system and creating BOMs

· Checking drawings for sign off

· Working in a small, multi-disciplinary team on diverse projects
