About the Venue:

Located in Brighton-Le-Sands, just 25 minutes from Sydney CBD, The Brighton Hotel - MGallery Collection is a premium 5-star coastal destination overlooking the beautiful waters of Botany Bay.

With premium accommodation, multiple food and beverage venues, extensive event spaces and a busy waterfront operation, The Brighton is a dynamic hospitality environment where the facilities and maintenance team plays a critical role in keeping the hotel operating at its best.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and hands‑on Assistant Facilities Manager to join the team at The Brighton Hotel - MGallery Collection.

Working closely with the Facilities Manager, you’ll support the day‑to‑day operation, maintenance and presentation of the hotel, helping ensure all facilities, equipment and services are operating safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

This is a hands‑on operational role, not an office‑based position. You’ll be regularly out on the floor, inspecting facilities, responding to maintenance issues, supporting the maintenance team, working with contractors and getting involved in troubleshooting and repairs where required.

You’ll need to be comfortable taking ownership, getting your hands dirty when needed and being visible across the hotel. From preventative maintenance and contractor management through to urgent operational issues, you’ll play an important role in keeping the property running smoothly for our guests and teams.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the Facilities Manager with the day-to-day operation of the hotel’s facilities and maintenance function
- Be hands‑on and operational, regularly inspecting the property and responding to maintenance and facilities issues
- Supervise and support the maintenance team, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standard
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving mechanical, electrical,

plumbing and general building maintenance issues
- Carry out and oversee preventative maintenance programs and regular inspections
- Respond to urgent maintenance issues and facilities‑related operational requirements
- Coordinate and monitor contractors, ensuring work is completed safely, professionally and to agreed standards
- Assist with contractor scheduling, access, permits and site requirements
- Support the management of maintenance supplies, spare parts and equipment
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure scheduled tasks are completed
- Assist with ensuring compliance with WHS, safety, building and relevant regulatory requirements
- Identify potential maintenance issues before they impact guests, staff or hotel operations
- Work closely with Hotel Operations, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage and other departments to resolve facilities issues quickly
- Assist with projects, refurbishments and facility improvement initiatives as required

About You:

- Previous experience in facilities management, hotel maintenance, building services or a similar operational environment
- Previous experience supervising or leading a maintenance or facilities team highly regarded
- Strong practical knowledge of building maintenance, plant and equipment
- Hands‑on and operational approach with a willingness to get involved and troubleshoot issues directly
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to prioritise competing maintenance requirements in a busy hotel environment
- Good understanding of WHS,

safety and compliance requirements
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with contractors and internal teams
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Proactive approach with the ability to identify and address issues before they become larger problems
- Engineering, facilities management or relevant technical qualifications highly regarded
- Comfortable responding to urgent facilities issues outside standard hours when required
- Police check required for this role
- Full Australian working rights (sponsorship not available for this role)

Benefits:

- Free onsite parking
- Join the facilities team at a premium 5-star waterfront hotel
- Oscars Group food and beverage discounts across 45+ venues
- Internal and external training and development opportunities
- Access to online training and development platforms
- Mentoring from experienced hospitality professionals
- Career progression opportunities across Oscars Group
- Reward and recognition initiatives
- Be part of a agile hotel environment with exposure to a wide range of facilities and operational challenges
