The Role

The APS 6 EMP Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of External Maintenance Periods (EMPs) within Regional Maintenance Centre-North (RMC‑N), Maritime Systems Division. Working under broad direction, the role manages complex project activities that support the maintenance, sustainment and availability of Navy capability. The position oversees maintenance schedules, resources, risks, budgets and reporting to ensure EMPs are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with Defence requirements. It prepares briefs, submissions, reports and governance documentation, monitors project performance and supports continuous improvement initiatives. The role engages with Navy, industry and Defence stakeholders to coordinate activities, resolve issues and manage competing priorities. It provides informed project management advice, supports decision‑making and contributes to the achievement of organisational objectives within a complex and dynamic maintenance environment.

About our Team

Maritime Systems Division (MSD) operates within the Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group delivering in‑service support to Navy and Army along with delivering new capability to Government. MSD is embarking on transformational change to establish the Maritime Sustainment Model and ensure the organisation is able to respond to emerging demands and strategic priorities. The Regional Maintenance Centre‑North team sits within MSD and delivers Maintenance to Navy Vessels.
