Life in the fast lane
As our Procurement Specialist, you will be joining the Legal & Procurement team who make up part of the Legal & Strategy department.
This is a permanent position, based at our Head Office in St Kilda.
Reporting into the Head of Legal & Procurement, the Procurement Specialist plays a key role in supporting and enabling procurement activities across the Corporation. The position provides guidance and advice to stakeholders undertaking low-value procurements, while directly managing or supporting medium to high-value procurement processes, including procurement planning, tender development, evaluation, and contract award activities. This role will be required to establish strong and collaborative relationships and engage with all teams across the Corporation to ensure they are adequately informed and supported in relation to procurement activities.
Additionally, you will:
- Coordinate and conduct procurement processes, including the development and preparation of procurement strategies, requests for quotes, expressions of interest, requests for tenders, supplier evaluations and contract award recommendations.
- Monitor procurement and contract management timelines and milestones and provide appropriate support to ensure contracts,
variations and extensions are executed within required timeframes.
- Support procurement planning, contract negotiations and contract administration activities in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
- Assist with the implementation of procurement policy updates, procedural improvements and associated change initiatives.
- Contribute to the ongoing implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of AGPC's procurement framework, policies, templates and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement practices, systems and processes through analysis of procurement activities, supplier markets and public sector procurement best practice
- Provide guidance, training and support to stakeholders on procurement processes, purchasing obligations and contract management requirements
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Minimum of 4 years demonstrated experience in procurement, contract administration or commercial activities, preferably within an infrastructure, construction, major events or project-based environment.
- Experience coordinating procurement activities, including quotations, tenders, supplier evaluations and contract administration.
- Proficient in the development of procurement strategies and providing commercial advice in relation to a broad range of procurement activities.
- Experience managing or supporting procurement governance functions (policy and process development and compliance).
- A current Police Check and Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee), or be willing to obtain.
