Job Description
Position Title:
Overview
We are seeking an experienced SeniorIntegration Specialist with deep expertise in IBM Integration Bus (IIB) and IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) to lead the design, development,and governance of integration solutions across a complex Government ICTenvironment.
This role is critical in supporting digital transformation, ensuringinteroperability between legacy and modern systems, and enabling secure,reliable, and standards‑compliant data exchange across Government platforms.
The ideal candidate has extensiveexperience operating in high‑compliance, audit‑driven, secure environments,and can confidently guide technical decisions, mentor junior staff, and engagewith business and architecture teams.
- Lead end‑to‑end solution design for complex integrationrequirements across Government systems.
- Provide expert guidance on integration patterns, messagingstrategies, security models, and architectural standards.
- Work closely with Enterprise Architects, Cyber Security,
andInfrastructure teams to ensure whole‑of‑government alignment.
Integration Development & Delivery
- Design and develop high‑quality message flows using IBMACE/IIB, including ESQL, Java compute, MQ, HTTP, REST/SOAP, andtransformation nodes.
- Implement robust integration solutions aligning with Governmentdata standards, API frameworks, information classification, and complianceobligations.
- Develop reusable subflows, shared libraries, patterns, andintegration templates to uplift team capability and streamline delivery.
Security, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure all integration solutions adhere to Government policyframeworks including:
- Cyber Security Policy (CSP)
- Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF)
- Information Security Manual (ISM)
- Records & Data Management standards
- Implement secure patterns including TLS, mTLS, OAuth2, JWT,client certificates, message encryption, and secure MQ channels.
- Maintain auditability, traceability, and compliance withretention and logging requirements.
Operational Excellence & Support
- Lead root‑cause analysis for complex incidents, providepermanent fixes, and optimise flow performance.
- Provide technical leadership for release planning, deploymentautomation, CI/CD pipelines,
and environment configuration.
Collaboration & StakeholderManagement
- Work with business units, project teams, and service providersto translate requirements into integration solutions.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technicalstakeholders across Government agencies.
Technical Expertise
- 7–10+ years’ experience in IBM IIB and/or IBM AppConnect Enterprise (ACE).
- Advanced ESQL, message modeling, XSD, JSON schema, XML/XSLT.
- Strong experience integrating with:
- Secure APIs (REST/SOAP)
- On‑prem and cloud systems (AWS/Azure/GovCloud)
- Experience with CI/CD tools used in Government (Azure DevOps,Jenkins, GitHub Enterprise).
- Familiarity with API Gateways (IBM API Connect, Kong, Apigee).
- Familiarity with Kubernetes.
Security & Compliance
- Demonstrated experience working in high‑security, regulatedenvironments.
- Strong understanding of identity management, secrets,certificates, and secure channels.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement acrossdiverse Government teams.
- Ability to lead technical decisions, conduct peer reviews, andprovide technical coaching.
- Solid analytical and problem‑solving mindset with attention todetail.
