Position Overview:

Due to continued business growth and expansion, we are seeking an experienced Imports Operations Manager to join our team in Perth.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the import operations, including the end-to-end import process and the management of our bonded depot (77G).

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in import freight forwarding, customs clearance and bonded warehouse operations, together with proven leadership and people management skills. This role will oversee the connection between office-based import processes and warehouse operations, ensuring shipments are processed efficiently, accurately and in accordance with all relevant compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and oversee the day-to-day import operations and bonded depot (77G) activities
- Oversee depot operations including receiving, storage, clearance, dispatch, safety and compliance
- Lead, manage and provide direction to the Imports Operations and depot teams
- Develop staff capability through training, coaching and ongoing performance management
- Act as a key point of contact for Australian Border Force (ABF) and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF)
- Ensure all ABF, DAFF, customs and bonded depot requirements are maintained and complied with at all times
- Manage relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, transport providers, clients and other key stakeholders
- Oversee the end-to-end import process, including documentation, sea and air cargo reporting, customs clearance, bonded warehouse processing, outturn and dispatch to the transport team
- Oversee the lodging of air and sea cargo automation and outturn reports
- Monitor shipment progress and ensure operational issues are identified and resolved promptly




- Manage client enquiries and customer feedback or complaints in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately, within required timeframes and in accordance with company policies and compliance obligations
- Monitor and report on operational performance, including productivity, efficiency and service levels
- Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, systems and workflows
- Develop and implement procedures to improve efficiency and overall operational performance
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between the office, warehouse and transport teams
- Maintain a strong focus on customer service and operational excellence
- Ensure all WHS, company and regulatory requirements are followed
- Manage and resolve operational issues, escalating significant matters to senior management where required
- Perform other duties and projects as required by management

Key Requirements:

- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in imports operations, with previous experience in an Imports Supervisor, Imports Operations Manager or similar senior role
- Proven experience managing and leading an operations team
- Strong experience overseeing 77G bonded depot operations
- Strong knowledge of customs clearance, cartage and end-to-end import processes
- Strong understanding of ABF, DAFF and bonded warehouse compliance requirements
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with CargoWise and EDI
- Strong freight forwarding and logistics industry knowledge
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Solid customer service skills and ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently,
