POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the practical implementation of manufacturing improvement and automation initiatives across bathroom pod operations. In this role, you will play a key part in improving the way our bathroom pods are manufactured, working across production processes, equipment, automation and continuous improvement initiatives. You will review current manufacturing workflows, identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities, investigate new equipment and technologies, and help turn improvement initiatives into practical solutions on the production floor. From developing business cases and implementation plans through to testing, commissioning and handover, you will be involved across the full lifecycle of manufacturing improvement projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Process Improvement:Review manufacturing processes and workflows to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies and practical improvement opportunities.
- Manufacturing Analysis:Analyse production processes, develop value stream maps and use data to prioritise opportunities and measure improvement outcomes.
- Equipment & Technology:Research and assess new manufacturing equipment, processes and technologies, including CNC, robotics, automation, material handling and quality inspection systems.
- Project Implementation:Develop and coordinate implementation plans for new processes and equipment, including timelines, budgets, resources, risks and success measures.
- Testing & Commissioning:Coordinate testing, commissioning, validation and handover of new equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Business Cases:Prepare cost-benefit analyses and business cases to support investment in new equipment, technology and process improvements.
- Production Layout & Workflow:Support the optimisation of production layouts and workflows across manual, semi-automated and automated manufacturing processes.
- Technical Support:Provide manufacturing and technical support across Production, Quality, Design and Project teams.
- Supplier Coordination:Work with equipment suppliers, automation partners, integrators and other specialist providers to deliver improvement initiatives.




- Continuous Improvement:Support and train production teams in new processes and equipment while contributing to a culture of practical innovation and continuous improvement.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE

- Relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, automation engineering or a similar manufacturing-focused role.
- Hands-on experience within an established manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and an understanding of how manufacturing processes and equipment work.
- Experience with CNC machining.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing production processes and identifying practical improvement opportunities.
- Robust problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to use data to support recommendations and measure outcomes.
- Experience implementing new manufacturing processes, machinery or equipment.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan and coordinate projects from investigation through to implementation.
- Ability to develop clear business cases and cost-benefit analyses for manufacturing investments.
- Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to investigation, testing, documentation and implementation.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across Production, Design, Quality, Project Management and Operations teams.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, robotics, CAM or manufacturing automation would be highly regarded.
- Experience within automotive, appliance manufacturing, aerospace, modular construction or another established manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
