The Opportunity:

An exciting leadership opportunity has become available for a Capability Manager - Structural within our Manufacturing & Maintenance Engineering team. This role has become vacant following the resignation of the incumbent and presents an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineering leader to shape the capability, performance, and future direction of UGL's structural engineering function. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing the structural engineering capability across the business, managing the deployment and workload of engineering resources, and ensuring the team is equipped to meet current and future project requirements.



The role also provides technical expertise in structural design and analysis across complex rail and engineering projects.

About You:

- Tertiary qualifications in Structural or Mechanical Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia.
- Significant experience in structural engineering, design and analysis.
- Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring and developing technical teams.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and communication skills.
- Experience in resource planning, workforce capability development and performance management.
- Technical competence in structural design methods and finite element analysis (FEA).
- Experience within rollingstock, transport, manufacturing, defence, automotive or other safety-critical industries will be highly regarded.
- CPEng and/or RPEQ accreditation is desirable.
