Access Financial Management

Melbourne

What if being a great financial adviser was simply about being a great financial adviser?

No prospecting.

No requirement to bring a book of clients.

No driving around Melbourne visiting clients.

No evenings.

No weekends.

And no measuring your worth by how much product you sell or how many recent clients you find.

Instead, imagine being able to spend your time doing what you became a financial adviser to do:

Helping people make better decisions about money so they can make better decisions about life.

If that sounds refreshing, we'd like you to keep reading.

We think financial advice should be about more than money

At Access Financial Management, our purpose is to help people live even happier lives.

Of course, investment returns matter. Superannuation matters. Tax matters. Cashflow matters.

But ultimately, money is a resource for living.

That's why our philosophy is:

Values first. Planning second. Product last.

We help clients understand what matters to them, align their capital with those priorities and make thoughtful decisions about their future.

We call that achieving a better Return on Life.

And we're looking for an experienced Financial Adviser who wants to do the same.

You may not even be looking for another job

In fact, we'd be quite happy if you're not.

Perhaps you're good at what you do.

Perhaps your clients value you and your employer values you.

But maybe you've started wondering whether there's another version of your career.

One where your potential is stretched rather than contained.

Where you're surrounded by people who want you to grow.

Where advice is about conversations rather than transactions.

Where your technical knowledge is important, but so are your curiosity, judgement and humanity.

And where having an exceptional career doesn't require sacrificing an exceptional life.

If you've quietly wondered whether you're capable of more, we'd like to meet you.

What would you actually do?

You would take responsibility for long‑term relationships with AFM clients and become one of the people they turn to when important financial decisions need to be made.

You’ll lead conversations that uncover values, priorities and goals.

You’ll take complexity and make it straightforward.

You’ll provide holistic financial advice and work with our paraplanning and client service teams to turn that advice into action.

You’ll challenge clients when appropriate, reassure them when necessary and provide perspective when markets, media or life create uncertainty.

You’ll help clients stay accountable to the plans they've made.

Most importantly, you’ll build the kind of relationships where clients think:

“Before I make this decision, I'd like to talk to my adviser.”

That's our definition of trust.

What you won't have to do

This matters.

You won't be expected to:

- find your own clients or bring a book of business;
- spend your time cold prospecting or chasing leads;
- routinely travel to clients;
- work evenings or weekends; or
- sacrifice the important parts of your life to demonstrate commitment to your career.

We want your energy focused on becoming an exceptional adviser.

And when the working day finishes, we want you to have energy left for the people and things that matter to you.

Because Return on Life should apply to our team as much as it does to our clients.

Who are we looking for?

We need someone with experience.

You’ll need sound financial planning fundamentals,

a strong understanding of superannuation and the professional qualifications and standing required to provide financial advice in Australia.

But that’s merely the entry ticket.

What we’re really interested in is how you think and who you are becoming.

You might be right for us if you:

- are genuinely curious about people;
- ask good questions and listen to the answers;
- can explain complicated things simply;
- take ownership rather than wait to be told;
- do what you say you'll do;
- enjoy being part of a team;
- are proactive and resourceful;
- welcome feedback and want to keep growing;
- care more about finding the right answer than being right; and
- believe financial advice can make a meaningful difference to someone's life.

Technical knowledge can continue to grow.

Character is harder to teach.

A little about our culture

We believe in gratitude and contribution.

We call it having our arrows out.

It means looking beyond ourselves and asking:

“How can I contribute?”

To a client.

To a colleague.

To our profession.

And to the people around us.

We don't expect perfection. We do expect curiosity, accountability, integrity and a willingness to grow.

We take our work seriously.

We don't believe we need to take ourselves too seriously.

Maybe you're comfortable where you are

That’s okay.

This advertisement isn't designed to convince everybody to apply.

It's written for the adviser who reads it and feels a little uncomfortable — in a good way.

The person who thinks:

“That’s the kind of adviser I want to be.”

If that's you, we'd like to have a conversation.

Not an interrogation.

Not a commitment.

Just a conversation about where you are, where you'd like to go, and whether Access Financial Management might be a place where you can become even better at something you're already good at.

Sometimes you don't need to be unhappy with where you are to be curious about where you could go next.

We'd be delighted to hear from you.
