General Manager – Care
Practical Leadership. Purposeful Care. A Legacy Worth Continuing.
Regional Victoria | Standalone Residential Aged Care Home | Report directly to the CEO
This is an opportunity to step into a leadership role where practicality meets purpose — and where the work you do has a genuine and visible impact on the lives of residents, families and the wider community.
Our client is seeking an experienced Clinical/Residential Aged Care Leader to lead a standalone home in Regional Victoria and continue the positive journey already underway.
The home has an established legacy of quality care, strong relationships and genuine commitment to its residents, alongside a positive turnaround that has strengthened the organisation’s foundations. This role is about building on that momentum — protecting what works, strengthening what matters and continuing to lift the standard of care.
A role with real influence
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will have the opportunity to lead with both autonomy and support, working closely with the broader leadership team to ensure the home continues to deliver safe, high-quality and person-centred care.
A strong focus will be placed on clinical governance, compliance, quality and continuous improvement. You will be someone who is comfortable being hands-on, visible and practical — able to translate standards and requirements into meaningful outcomes for residents and staff.
You will be responsible for:
- Providing robust clinical and operational leadership across the home
- Maintaining a clear focus on clinical governance, compliance, quality and risk
- Building on the positive improvements and momentum already established
- Supporting and developing a capable and engaged care team
- Ensuring residents remain at the centre of decision-making
- Strengthening systems, processes and accountability across the home
- Working collaboratively with the CEO and key stakeholders
- Maintaining strong relationships with residents,
families and the local community
Why this opportunity?
This isn’t about coming in and simply maintaining the status quo.
It’s about continuing something that is already moving in the right direction.
You’ll have the opportunity to take an established home, with a proud history and a positive recent turnaround, and help shape its next chapter. Your leadership will be visible, your decisions will matter, and you’ll have the support of a CEO who values strong clinical leadership and quality outcomes.
For the right person, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while enjoying the rewards of regional community, genuine connection and purpose-driven leadership.
If you’re a grounded, values-driven aged care leader who combines solid clinical governance with practical leadership, we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll be someone who:
- Leads by example
- Builds genuine relationships
- Listens before jumping to solutions
- Brings people together
- Is comfortable being visible and hands-on
- Develops people rather than simply managing them
- Can have courageous conversations with kindness
- Takes accountability and encourages others to do the same
- Is curious and always looking for ways to improve
- Understands the importance of dignity, choice and person-centred care
- Doesn’t take themselves too seriously — but takes the work seriously

And perhaps most importantly…
You’ll be joining an organisation that wants todo good work, with good people, in the right way.
The CEO isn’t looking for someone to come in and simply manage a department.
They’re looking for apartner in leadership.
Someone who will help bring people together.
Someone who will create an environment where people feel supported, valued and proud of the work they do.
Someone who understands that sometimes leadership means making the big decision and sometimes it means simply putting the kettle on, sitting down with someone and listening.
If that sounds like you, we’d genuinely love to hear from you.
This could be the opportunity to bring your experience, your leadership and your heart to an organisation where all three will matter.
