Green Light Australiaare looking to engage a Cost Controller with energy/utility industry experience to join their team. You will provide end‑to‑end cost control, forecasting, and financial support.

Responsibilities

- Complete the monthly accrual process in line with Finance deadlines
- Prepare and submit month-end forecasts by the required deadlines
- Deliver month-end reporting, including Finance variance reports
- Facilitate monthly meetings with Project Managers to obtain the most up-to-date information on accruals, trends, forecasts, and attend other regular meetings as required.
- Analyse and clearly articulate monthly cost variances, including root causes and drivers.
- Maintain complete and up-to-date monthly Cost Books, ensuring they are accurately saved in SharePoint.
- Create or facilitate Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs) for assigned projects or functional areas.
- Support Project Managers in the preparation and submission of Authorisation For Expenditures (AFE) to enable timely funding approval and release.
- Manage PO and project closures to support strong financial housekeeping and enable Finance to capitalise projects accurately.
- Maintain and update AFE and WBS registers
- Ensure a high level of data accuracy

Requirements

- Extensive experience in similar role as a Cost Controller for large corporate companies




- Proven experience working within the energy/utilities industry
- Proven experience in project cost control, forecasting, and accruals
- Robust understanding of AFE (Authorisation For Expenditure) / WBS / project financial governance
- Prove experience working on large projects
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with liaising with Project Managers and Finance
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Proficiency in ERP systems, Excel, and document control tools (e.g. SharePoint)

- Exceptional communication skills
