We’re looking for a motivated Transition to Work Employment Consultant to join our Workforce Australia Employment Services team in Mackay. In this role, you’ll work with young people aged 15–24 to identify and overcome barriers to employment, build their vocational skills,



and support them to secure and maintain meaningful employment or education opportunities.

In this role, you will:

- Provide job search assistance, including resume preparation, interview support and job matching.
- Build strong relationships with local employers to identify employment and work experience opportunities.
- Facilitate individual and group sessions, including job search, interview preparation and employer information sessions.
- Support participants to secure and maintain employment or education through ongoing post-placement support.
- Maintain accurate participant records, case notes and employment service information in relevant systems.
- Work collaboratively with employers, community organisations and other stakeholders to achieve positive participant outcomes.

We’re looking for someone who:

- Has strong communication, consultation, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Is self-motivated, enthusiastic and results-focused.
- Is confident building relationships with young people, employers and other stakeholders.
- Can work effectively to targets, deadlines and KPIs.
- Is organised, adaptable and able to manage competing priorities.
- Has strong computer, administration and record-keeping skills.
- Is committed to quality service delivery and ongoing learning and development.
- Experience in employment services, recruitment, sales/marketing, job matching or employment placement will be highly regarded.
- A qualification in Youth Work, Employment Services or Community Services is desirable, but not essential.
