We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team and play a pivotal role in delivering accurate financial reporting, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement across financial processes and controls.

Reporting to the Financial Reporting & Tax Manager, this influential position offers the opportunity to work across complex accounting, taxation and statutory reporting matters while partnering with stakeholders across the business. You will bring a proactive mindset, strong technical accounting expertise and a passion for process improvement to help maintain the integrity of financial information and support key business outcomes.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

- Preparing the Group’s annual financial statements and statutory disclosures.
- Prepare accounting position papers on complex transactions and the implementation of new accounting standards.
- Supporting sustainability reporting requirements and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure accurate and compliant sustainability disclosures.
- Responsible for the accounting treatment of electricity derivatives and hedge accounting, including the preparation of related financial disclosures.
- Supporting month-end and year-end close activities, including journal processing, accruals and reconciliations.
- Manage and report direct and indirect tax obligations.
- Maintaining oversight of fixed asset accounting.
- Assisting with finance system upgrades and optimisation projects.
- Maintaining robust documentation, governance frameworks and audit-ready controls.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:

- Degree qualifications in Business, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline.
- CPA, CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent skilled qualification.
- 5+ years' experience within financial accounting and/or external audit environments.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience across direct and indirect taxation obligations.
- Proven ability to interpret complex accounting matters and provide practical commercial solutions.
- Exposure to SAP or similar ERP systems will be highly regarded.
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical capability and stakeholder engagement skills.
