This is a hands on Cook role in a kitchen. You will prepare, cook and finish pizzas and pasta dishes to house recipes, manage mise en place for service, keep the cook line and work areas clean and food-secure, and help the team get orders out on time without dropping quality. The role suits someone who already knows pizza and pasta production and can work steadily through a dinner service.

Task & responsibilities

- Prepare dough, sauces, toppings and pasta components to recipe and daily volume.
- Stretch, top and bake pizzas to the required standard and size.
- Cook and plate pasta dishes and sides to ticket.
- Maintain food safety, temperature control and hygiene throughout prep and service.
- Restock the line, rotate stock and flag shortages before they become a problem.
- Clean equipment, benches and the cook area to kitchen standards at the end of service.
- Work with front-of-house and other kitchen staff so orders leave complete and on time.




- Follow opening and closing routines and any reasonable direction from the manager.

Qualification & experience

- You will need real kitchen experience in Italian food.
- You should already be comfortable with dough, ovens and cooking pasta to order.
- Evening and weekend availability matters here because that is when we trade.
- A cookery trade is required and experience in kitchen is required
- You must have the right to work in Australia.

The Cowes store on Chapel Street serves Phillip Island with gourmet pizzas (classic through to seafood, chicken, meat and vegetarian), pasta, vegan options, salads and sides.
