An exciting chance is available for an experienced Technical Lead to join an established software business undertaking a major transformation of its core ERP product.

You’ll help lead the transition of an established Delphi desktop application into a modern web-based platform using Java and React, with a minimum three-year transformation roadmap ahead.

This is a hands‑on leadership role combining approximately 50% software development with technical leadership, architecture and delivery ownership. You’ll lead a team of four developers and work closely with existing development leadership through an initial transition period before taking increasing ownership of the product and its technical direction.

For the right person, there is genuine long-term scope to progress into a CTO-level position.

You Should Have

- 10+ years' commercial software development experience
- 7+ years' commercial Delphi experience
- 3-5+ years' commercial Java experience
- 3-5+ years' commercial React experience
- Strong ERP product or platform experience
- Previous product modernisation or digital transformation experience
- Strong system design and software architecture capability
- Demonstrated technical leadership experience
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- A hands‑on approach with the ability to take genuine ownership of a product and its technical direction

Nice to Have

- Mining ERP experience or domain knowledge
- Experience modernising legacy desktop applications into web-based platforms




- Experience leading distributed or offshore development teams

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the transformation of a Delphi desktop ERP product into a modern Java and React web-based platform
- Help define the architecture, technical direction and transformation roadmap
- Remain approximately 50% hands‑on across software development
- Lead and support four developers across local and offshore environments
- Drive system design and key architectural decisions
- Manage and coordinate with external contractors
- Own technical planning, documentation and release management
- Engage with senior stakeholders across the business
- Take increasing ownership of the product and its technical direction
