Design and Creative teams, you will take ideas from initial concept through to finished, production-ready artwork.
Office-based on St Kilda Rd
Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating original prints, patterns, graphics and illustrations
- Developing artwork across accessories, lifestyle products and packaging
- Creating cohesive product ranges and collections rather than individual designs in isolation
- Translating fashion and lifestyle trends into commercially relevant product concepts
- Working with mood boards, seasonal direction and trend information
- Developing colour palettes, prints, patterns, materials and finishes
- Preparing detailed product specifications
- Producing supplier-ready finished artwork
- Collaborating closely with Product Designers and Product Developers
- Ensuring designs are creative, commercially viable and appropriate for the target customer
- Managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-moving retail environment
About You
You will ideally be an experienced Midweight or Senior Graphic Designer with a background in areas such as:
- Fashion
- Accessories
- Lifestyle products
- Stationery
- Gifts
- Packaging
- Children's or youth products
- Multi-product retail
You will bring a strong understanding of colour, print, pattern and illustration, combined with the commercial awareness required to create products customers actually want to buy.
Most importantly, you will have demonstrated experience creating cohesive ranges and collections,
not simply standalone graphics.
You will also have:
- Advanced Adobe Illustrator skills – essential
- Excellent illustration and graphic design capability
- Strong print and pattern design skills
- Experience creating production-ready artwork
- An understanding of product specifications and manufacturing requirements
- A solid eye for colour, materials and finishes
- An awareness of fashion, retail and emerging trends
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- The ability to collaborate with multiple creative and commercial teams
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- The ability to balance creativity with commercial considerations including customer and price point
Trend forecasting experience would be highly regarded.
