The Role

The High Frequency Sensing Systems Program Office (HFSSPO) is seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to lead the AIR2025 Phase 6 Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) Mid Life Upgrade. JORN is one of Australia's most important Defence capabilities, providing long-range surveillance and contributing directly to Australia's national security and strategic awareness. As a member of the Acquisition Office leadership team, you will provide strategic direction and leadership across project delivery, stakeholder engagement, commercial management, governance, risk, schedule and financial performance. You will work closely with senior Defence leaders, government stakeholders and industry partners to solve complex challenges, influence strategic decisions and deliver critical capability outcomes. You will lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of project professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement. Success in this role will require strong leadership, sound judgement and the ability to build trusted relationships across a diverse and complex stakeholder environment. - This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP).
- This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement (DECA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.
