Position Details

St Simon Peter Catholic Primary School is a thriving triple-stream co-educational Catholic primary school catering for students from Kindergarten to Year Six. The school has solid partnerships with Ocean Reef Parish and Prendiville Catholic College and is committed to providing a contemporary, inclusive Catholic education. The school also operates an Early Learning Centre, Long Day Care and Out of School Hours Care services, with the Catherine Centre providing specialised support for students with diverse learning needs.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and committed Middle To Upper Primary Classroom Teacher to join our collaborative professional learning community.

The successful applicant will be passionate about improving student outcomes through high-quality, evidence-informed teaching and will demonstrate a commitment to creating engaging, inclusive and supportive learning environments. They will establish positive relationships with students and families, work collaboratively within year-level and school teams, and contribute actively to the Catholic identity, mission and wider life of the school.

Year-level placements across Middle and Upper Primary will be determined in consultation with successful applicants and the school leadership team, taking into consideration the needs of the school together with individual strengths, experience and preferences.

Selection Criteria

- A strong commitment to the Catholic faith and the mission of Catholic Education,



actively contributing to the Catholic identity, Religious Education program and faith life of the school.
- Strong knowledge and application of contemporary, evidence-informed early childhood pedagogy, including intentional teaching and developmentally appropriate practice.
- The ability to create safe, inclusive and engaging learning environments that recognise children as capable learners and respond effectively to diverse learning, developmental and wellbeing needs.
- Experience in identifying and supporting children with additional needs, implementing appropriate adjustments and targeted strategies in partnership with families and relevant professionals.
- The effective use of observation, assessment and evidence of learning to inform responsive planning, evaluate teaching impact and determine next steps for learning.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, building positive and respectful partnerships with children, families, colleagues and the wider school community.
- A collaborative approach to planning, teaching and assessment, working effectively with colleagues, education assistants and other professionals to support continuity of learning and successful transitions.
- A commitment to reflective practice, professional learning and continuous improvement, demonstrating initiative, responsiveness to feedback and a positive contribution to whole-school practice.

Qualifications Required

- 4 Year Education Degree
- Accreditation to Teach requirements as specified by CEWA.
