Western Downs Digital Park

Western Downs Digital Park is a major new hyperscale data centre campus at Kogan in Queensland.

Planned across multiple delivery phases, it brings together AI-ready data centres, energy infrastructure and a purpose-built campus environment. This is an prospect to help shape a critical new digital infrastructure asset from the ground up.

The role

The Project Controls Leader will be WDDP’s senior planning and programme-controls authority, accountable for the integrated campus master programme across the first building in construction and the future-building pipeline.

You will provide the Executive Project Director with one reliable view of schedule, critical paths, dependencies, programme risk, readiness and delivery performance across the campus.

This is a senior mega-project planning and controls leadership appointment, not an administrative PMO role.

You will lead two Planning Managers, establish the planning and schedule-governance standards for WDDP, challenge contractor and consultant programmes,



and create the assurance and reporting discipline that will support each future building as it moves into delivery.

The role is focused on planning, scheduling, programme risk, governance and performance reporting. The Commercial Leader retains accountability for cost planning, forecasting, contracts, variations and commercial controls.

What you will lead

- The integrated campus master programme across active construction, shared infrastructure and the future-building pipeline.
- Planning standards, schedule governance, assurance reviews and consistent progress-measurement practices.
- Consolidated reporting on critical paths, milestones, interfaces, dependencies, programme risk and delivery confidence.
- Challenge and validation of contractor, consultant and workstream schedules before they inform executive decisions.
- Cross-building sequencing involving shared infrastructure, resources, approvals, power, procurement and commissioning.
- The repeatable programme handover as each future building moves from pre-construction into construction delivery.
- Leadership of the Planning Manager – Construction Delivery and Planning Manager – Pre-Construction, together with specialist planners and consultants.
- Planning systems, Primavera P6 standards, executive dashboards and the continuous improvement of programme information.

What you will bring





You will be a senior project controls or planning leader who has owned the integrated programme on a genuine mega-project or comparably complex capital development.

You will combine deep scheduling expertise with the judgement and authority to challenge delivery teams and provide a clear executive view.

- At least 12 years of experience in project planning, scheduling or programme-controls leadership within major construction or infrastructure.
- Direct responsibility for the integrated master programme on a mega-project, major capital development or complex multi-phase programme.
- Advanced Primavera P6 capability, including schedule integration, critical-path analysis and programme assurance.
- Strong contractor-schedule review, progress validation, delay analysis and schedule-risk capability.
- Experience leading Planning Managers, senior planners and specialist planning consultants.
- The ability to translate detailed programme information into concise reporting for executive and investment stakeholders.
- Experience aligning schedule information with cost phasing and capital reporting while working alongside a separate commercial function.
- Data centre, rail, roads, energy, resources, aviation, defence or other complex infrastructure experience is highly regarded.
- A degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline is preferred.
