The Opportunity:

As our Cyber Security Analyst, you will play an important role in protecting Council's systems, information and data from internal and external threats.

Working across multiple platforms and with stakeholders throughout the organisation, you will monitor security alerts, support incident response, undertake vulnerability and risk assessments, and assist with the implementation and improvement of Council's cyber security controls.

You will also contribute to security audits, technical documentation and incident response planning, while helping to build a cyber security conscious culture through staff education, phishing simulations and targeted communications.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will hold a degree in Information Technology, Cyber Security or a related discipline, or have an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.

You will also bring:

- Contemporary ICT experience, including exposure to cyber security operations or incident response.
- Experience with security monitoring, incident detection, vulnerability management and threat intelligence
- An understanding of identity, access and privileged account security.
- An understanding of security assurance and the ability to assess whether security controls are operating effectively.
- Knowledge of cyber security principles, emerging threats and frameworks such as the ASD Essential Eight, PCI DSS and NIST
- Familiarity with SIEM or SOAR platforms and security monitoring tools
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills and a willingness to follow an issue through to resolution.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical risks and business impacts to a range of stakeholders
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven workplace

Benefits:

This is a full-time, permanent role working a 35-hour week,



with a base salary range of $94,812 to $105,241 per year + 12% super.
