Supervisor / Manager - Accounting & Tax (Remote)

They're now looking for a Supervisor / Manager to help lead the next chapter of the business.

About the role

This is a senior position for an accountant who enjoys both technical work and developing people. You'll manage a portfolio of clients while leading, mentoring and supporting a small team. You will:

- Lead, coach and develop a team of accountants, and work closely with the firm's offshore team to keep work flowing and quality high
- Allocate, review and sign off work prepared by the offshore team, giving clear feedback and helping lift their capability
- Manage a portfolio of clients across trades, medical, agriculture, hospitality and retail, as their primary point of contact
- Oversee BAS, IAS, FBT and payroll tax compliance, and the team's lodgement workflow
- Manage WIP, budgets and billing across your portfolio and team




- Provide proactive tax planning and advisory support, and handle complex queries escalated by the team
- Work closely with the directors on client strategy and practice improvement

About you

- Extensive public practice experience, with previous experience supervising or leading staff
- Degree qualified, and CPA/CA qualified
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance
- Excellent leadership, communication and client-service skills
- Comfortable managing your own portfolio while reviewing and developing others' work
- Experience with Xero, MYOB, FYI Docs and/or QuickBooks (advantageous, not essential)
- Self-motivated and organised, so you work well in a remote setup
- A proactive approach and a commitment to quality work
