Pilaiyar Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day retail operations of our Ballan store. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing store performance, inventory, purchasing, customer service and staff, while supporting the ongoing growth and efficiency of the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the daily operation of the retail store and ensure efficient delivery of retail services to customers.
- Review customer demand and sales information to maintain an appropriate range and availability of products.
- Monitor stock movement and determine appropriate stock quantities and replenishment requirements.
- Coordinate purchasing activities, including liaising with suppliers, placing orders and monitoring deliveries.
- Establish and review retail pricing in line with business requirements, market conditions and applicable pricing policies.
- Plan and implement local promotional and marketing activities to increase customer awareness and support sales growth.
- Promote the store's products and services and provide customers with appropriate information and assistance regarding products.
- Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve revenue and overall retail performance.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, sales, purchases and other financial transactions.
- Assist with preparation and monitoring of revenue forecasts, operating expenses and store budgets.
- Recruit, train,



allocate duties to and supervise retail employees to maintain appropriate staffing levels and service standards.
- Prepare staff rosters and coordinate employee coverage according to operational requirements and customer demand.
- Monitor staff performance and provide guidance and training to improve service quality and operational efficiency.
- Establish and maintain appropriate customer service and store presentation standards.
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve complaints and service issues in a qualified manner.
- Ensure retail activities are conducted in accordance with applicable workplace health and safety and retail-related requirements.
- Review operating procedures and introduce practical improvements to enhance efficiency, customer experience and business performance.
- Coordinate pricing, product availability, promotional activities and customer service across the store's retail channels where applicable.

Skills and Experience

- Demonstrated experience in retail management or a similar supervisory retail role.
- Knowledge of retail sales, stock control, purchasing and merchandising.
- Experience managing and supervising retail employees.
- Strong customer service, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to monitor financial and sales information and manage operating expenses.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple operational priorities.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for day-to-day retail operations.
