About us

Running Pot is a hot pot restaurant in Glen Waverley, Melbourne. We are seeking a Public Relations Skilled to develop our public communications, strengthen relationships with media and community stakeholders, and build awareness and understanding of our dining experience.

About the role

You will plan and deliver public relations activities that support the business’s reputation and community engagement. Working with management, you will develop clear, consistent communications and evaluate how effectively our messages reach and engage the public.

Key responsibilities

- Develop and implement public relations plans and communication campaigns that reflect the business’s objectives and brand identity.
- Write and edit media releases, company announcements, media briefs and other public-facing communications.
- Build relationships with journalists, food and lifestyle publications, content creators and community organisations; coordinate media enquiries and publicity opportunities.
- Plan and coordinate media visits, public relations events and community initiatives to generate positive coverage and strengthen local relationships.
- Monitor media coverage, online discussions and customer sentiment,



and advise management on emerging issues and appropriate communication responses.
- Coordinate website and social media communications as part of broader public relations campaigns, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Evaluate campaign outcomes using media coverage, audience engagement and stakeholder feedback, and prepare reports with recommendations for improvement.

Skills and experience

- A relevant degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience in public relations, media liaison or corporate communications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and engaging content for different audiences.
- Effective relationship-building, organisational and project coordination skills.
- Ability to assess public feedback, exercise sound judgement and manage competing deadlines.
- Experience in hospitality, food and beverage, or another consumer-facing industry would be advantageous.
