COOK - Bakery | Hamilton Island

Hamilton Island's Bakery is a busy production workplace creating cakes, slices, cookies and other baked goods for guests and venues across the island. With hundreds of products produced each week, quality, consistency and attention to detail are essential.

We're looking for a Cook with a passion for cakes and pastry to join the team. Formal cookery qualifications aren't required - we're interested in practical experience and a genuine ability to bake and decorate. You may have worked in a bakery, cafe or pastry kitchen, or built your skills through your own cake-making business from home.

What you'll be doing

You'll work alongside our Pastry Chef and Chef de Partie producing a wide range of cakes and sweet items, including slices, cookies, banana bread, cupcakes and celebration cakes. You'll also assist with finishing and decorating cakes ready for our guests and venues.





This is a busy production kitchen - the team can produce around 300-400 cakes, 700-800 dessert slices and 600 cupcakes each week - so you'll learn to balance quality and presentation with consistency, organisation and volume.

What we're looking for

- Practical experience baking cakes, slices, cookies or similar products
- Cake finishing or decorating experience
- Experience may come from a bakery, cafe, pastry kitchen or your own home-based cake business
- Confidence following recipes and producing consistent results
- Strong organisation and attention to detail in a busy production environment
- A genuine interest in developing your pastry and baking skills
- Current Driver's Licence (Essential)
