Are you an experienced civil works leader who can coordinate people, projects and resources to deliver high-quality infrastructure and services for the community?

The City of West Torrens is seeking a highly capable Coordinator Civil Works and Services to lead the planning, procurement, coordination and delivery of civil maintenance, construction, and cleansing programs across the city.

Reporting to the Manager City Operations, you will lead multi-skilled operational teams and manage contractors to ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard, while achieving agreed service levels, project outcomes, contract requirements and budgets.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will:

- Lead, motivate and develop multi-skilled operational teams.
- Coordinate the delivery of civil maintenance, construction, capital works and cleansing programs.
- Manage annual works programs, budgets, procurement activities, contracts, contractors, plant and resource allocation.
- Lead the procurement of goods, services and civil works in accordance with Council policies and legislative requirements.
- Manage contractor performance, compliance, safety and service delivery outcomes to ensure value for money and quality results.
- Oversee the maintenance and construction of roads, footpaths, drainage systems, streetscapes and other public infrastructure assets.




- Provide expert technical advice and operational support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, accountability and customer service excellence.
- Monitor program performance and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, contractual obligations and Council objectives.

About you

You will be a confident, collaborative and adaptable leader with significant experience delivering civil infrastructure maintenance and construction programs. You will have demonstrated experience leading multi-skilled workforces, managing competing operational priorities and delivering projects safely, efficiently and within budget.

You will also bring strong project, financial, contract and stakeholder management skills, supported by detailed knowledge of civil construction and maintenance practices, including roads, footpaths, drainage, traffic, streetscapes and related infrastructure assets.

To be successful, you must have:

- a professional or paraprofessional qualification in civil engineering or a related field
- a current Class C driver’s licence
- a temporary traffic management qualification (non-practitioner), or willingness to obtain
- a Construction Induction Card (White Card), or willingness to obtain




- a current National Police Clearance (within six months of issue)
