6-Month Contract (Potential Extension)
4 Days per Week | Monday to Thursday
We're partnering with a well established manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Payroll Manager for a maternity leave cover opportunity commencing in November.
This is a standalone payroll position where you'll take full ownership of payroll operations across multiple legal entities, managing both fortnightly and monthly payrolls for a workforce of approximately 150 employees. With a mix of salaried and hourly employees working across complex rotating rosters, this role will suit a payroll professional who enjoys autonomy and is confident managing the complete payroll function.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- End-to-end payroll processing across three Australian legal entities
- Managing fortnightly and monthly payroll cycles
- Processing payroll for salaried and hourly manufacturing employees
- Reviewing timesheets, overtime, shift penalties, allowances and leave transactions
- Administering payroll tax, superannuation, STP and statutory reporting requirements
- Managing workers compensation declarations and insurer queries
- Payroll reporting, reconciliations and audit support
- Processing annual remuneration reviews, bonus payments and sales commissions
- Supporting Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) reporting requirements
- Acting as the key payroll subject matter expert for employees, managers and stakeholders
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll demonstrate:
- Extensive Australian payroll experience in an end-to-end position
- Previous experience operating as a standalone Payroll Manager or Payroll Specialist
- Strong exposure to hourly payroll environments and complex roster arrangements
- Experience interpreting shift penalties, overtime and award conditions
- Solid understanding of payroll compliance, payroll tax, superannuation and ATO reporting requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet critical payroll deadlines
- Advanced Excel and payroll reporting capabilities
Highly Regarded
- ADP payroll experience
- Manufacturing, industrial or 24/7 operational workforce experience
- Experience managing payroll for rotating 8-hour and 12-hour rosters
- Time and attendance system administration experience
- Exposure to workers compensation reporting and WGEA submissions
