About us:

Gladstone Hospital provides a broad range of acute, specialist and community-based healthcare services for Gladstone and the Banana region. As part of Destination 2030, the hospital is being developed as a centre of excellence for emergency care, medical inpatient services and day surgery, while strengthening outreach services to bring more care closer to home for rural communities.

About the role:

- Lead Operational Services across cleaning, catering, linen, waste, ward services, fire, safety and security, ensuring high-quality and effective service delivery.
- Supervise staff and daily operations, including monitoring productivity, service standards, rosters, training, performance development and mandatory requirements.
- Drive health, safety and compliance, promoting safe work practices and overseeing Food Safety, Environmental Services audits and relevant legislation and standards.
- Manage operational resources, including maintenance requests, purchasing, supplier orders, invoices and other administrative requirements.
- Coordinate and resolve operational issues, working with supervisors, employees and key stakeholders while responding to emergencies and undertaking Fire Warden responsibilities.

About you:

- Strong supervisory and organisational skills, with the ability to plan, coordinate, monitor and evaluate operational services.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with confidence communicating with staff, stakeholders and preparing relevant reports.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, including managing rosters,



leave coverage and staff requirements.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and improvement, with the ability to identify opportunities and resolve issues promptly.
- Valuable digital and administrative skills, including using systems such as myHR and S/4HANA, with a relevant Food Safety Supervisor qualification highly regarded.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $76,673 p.a. is comprised of:

- An hourly rate between $44.13 - $48.60 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
