Looking for a lifestyle change in Broome? HMEC is seeking an experienced mechanic to join our Broome workshop team. You’ll work a 50 hour week, maintaining and repairing a wide range of equipment, from road transport vehicles to mining and civil machinery. The role is workshop based, with occasional travel to customer sites.

HMEC is a WA-owned business providing maintenance support across the mining, energy and civil sectors. Our Broome workshop supports customers throughout the Kimberley and beyond.

The opportunity

This is a varied, hands-on role for a mechanic who enjoys solving problems and taking ownership of their work. No two jobs will look quite the same: you could be working on a truck in the workshop one day and attending a customer’s equipment on site the next.

What you’ll do

- Diagnose, service and repair road transport, mining and civil equipment

- Carry out planned maintenance and breakdown repairs

- Identify required parts and record work completed accurately

- Work with the workshop team to deliver safe, practical solutions for customers

- Travel to customer sites occasionally when required





What we’re looking for

- A recognised heavy diesel or relevant mechanical trade qualification

- Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment

- The ability to work independently and communicate well with customers and the team

- A strong approach to safety and quality

- A current driver's licence

- HR licence and field service experience would be an advantage
