About Digital Health and Clinical Coding at Gold Coast Health
Digital Health and Innovation leads the delivery of Gold Coast Health's most significant service improvement, clinical redesign, and digital transformation initiatives.

Within Digital Health, our Clinical Coding Services aims to align health funding to patient care through accurate coding of all diseases and procedures to ensure Gold Coast Health is accurately reimbursed for patient services provided. We also have a key role to play in research and innovation, in that our responsibilities will also include bringing external insight into the organisation for improvement.

About Your New Role

In this role as the Clinical Coding Auditor, you will actively participate in quality and audit activities that drive service improvement and coding excellence. Use your advanced expertise across a broad range of specialties to perform targeted and transactional audits, support education initiatives, influence best-practice standards, and ensure the highest level of coding accuracy.

Your Key Responsibilities

- Actively participate in the Gold Coast Health's Clinical Coding education, evaluation and auditing program
- Complete Queensland Cancer Registry notifications and appropriate Electronic Validation Application (EVA) error review
- Employ a range of advance skills to code highly complex cases and act as a mentor for less experienced Clinical Coders
- Identify needs for improvement in systems, procedures and strategies, applying relevant change once approved, encouraging staff to adapt to changes
- Utilise high level interpersonal and communication skills

Qualifications and Experience

- Completion of a Diploma in Clinical Coding, or alternatively a Tertiary Health Information Management related Bachelor, is a mandatory requirement
- A Certificate in Advanced Clinical Coding is a mandatory requirement
- Minimum of two (2)



years clinical coding experience in a hospital and healthcare setting, tertiary level highly desirable, as well as evidence of coding and auditing proficiency within a healthcare facility
- While not mandatory, a Specialist Certificate in Auditing (Clinical Coding) would be well regarded
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

- Permanent full time position
- Base salary ranging from $120,016 - $129,875 per annum
