SALARY - $100,000 - $140,000 per annum, dependent on experience

LOCATION – Melbourne, VIC
My client designs and manufactures bespoke heavy vehicle equipment. They are looking for a Vehicle Engineer with strong testing and compliance experience to join their team Melbourne on a permanent basis.
The Vehicle Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- At least 3 years’ experience working on Heavy Vehicles, trucks, trailers or similar equipment
- Strong experience across hands-on Testing, Compliance and Certification
- Strong understanding of heavy vehicle compliance requirements and relevant Australian standards
- Experience with vehicle certification, engineering approvals and compliance documentation
- Experience conducting or supporting vehicle testing and inspections
- Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles and vehicle systems
- Strong practical and hands-on approach to engineering
- Experience working closely with manufacturing, fabrication and assembly teams
- Able to investigate and resolve technical and compliance issues
- Robust attention to detail and technical documentation skills
- Able to work well individually as well as part of a team
The Vehicle Engineer role will involve:
- Managing engineering compliance and certification activities for heavy vehicles
- Reviewing vehicle designs and specifications for compliance
- Conducting and supporting vehicle testing, inspections and validation
- Preparing engineering reports, certification documentation and compliance records
- Liaising with relevant authorities, certification bodies, suppliers and customers
- Investigating technical issues and determining appropriate engineering solutions
- Supporting vehicle builds, modifications and final inspections
- Assisting with the development and implementation of testing and compliance processes
- Providing hands-on engineering support throughout the manufacturing and vehicle delivery process
- Working in a small, multi-disciplinary team on varied heavy vehicle projects
