We are responsible for servicing 23,688 customers from 27 townships across an area covering 300 square kilometres, encompassing Millowl (Phillip Island) and mainland communities from The Gurdies to Archies Creek.
The region has one of the highest ratios of visitors to residents of any destination in Australia. During peak periods, there can be approximately 120 visitors to every resident.

About the role
Resources, Logistics & Planning Officer- Ongoing, Full Time
Band 3 - $66,211 to $81,829 plus super and benefits
Westernport Water is seeking a skilled and motivated individual who can provide stores, planning and logistics support to the Network Operations & Maintenance (NOM) team to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of planning, resources, products and services for Westernport Water's (WPW) water and wastewater systems within agreed service standards 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
The role would suit a highly organised, dependable and proactive individual with experience in stores, warehousing and inventory management. They will be a practical problem-solver who can manage competing priorities, support operational teams and ensure resources are available when needed.
You will require strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety, accountability and continuous improvement,
with the ability to effectively coordinate materials, equipment and information in a fast-paced environment. A hands-on approach, adaptability and strong teamwork will be key to supporting efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities Areas:
- Provide stores, logistics and planning support across the NOM Department, ensuring the timely procurement and availability of materials, inventory and equipment, including support for planned and reactive maintenance activities.
- Manage end-to-end purchasing, receipt, storage, control, distribution and tracking of materials, supplies and personal protective equipment, ensuring accurate records and efficient inventory management.
- Coordinate the dispatch and return of company-owned tools and equipment, maintaining accurate records to ensure items are appropriately issued, tracked, returned and accounted for in positive working order, with loss, damage and maintenance requirements promptly identified and addressed.
- Coordinate WPW's Preventative Maintenance Program for stores and logistics, providing guidance and support for the maintenance, servicing and compliance requirements of tools, trailers, portable gas detectors, plant and equipment.
- Conduct annual stocktakes and maintain accurate, complete and up-to-date inventory records, providing reliable stock usage information to support annual materials and inventory budgets, budget planning and expenditure monitoring while ensuring appropriate cost controls.
- Maintain NOM stores, warehouse and facilities to a safe, secure and well-organised standard, ensuring stock is clearly identified, adequately stocked and readily accessible, while promoting compliance with WHS, risk management policies and operational procedures.
- Build effective relationships with customers, employees, coordinators, managers, contractors and suppliers, providing advice and guidance on non-routine stores, logistics and inventory matters, supporting continuous improvement of the stores and logistics management system and its integration with other business systems.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Extensive experience in stores, warehousing, logistics, inventory management and procurement, preferably within network operations, maintenance, utilities or a similar environment.
- Experience managing dangerous goods, hazardous substances and chemicals, including safe storage, handling and transportation in the workplace.
- Proven experience in purchasing, receiving, storage, dispatch, distribution and stock control, including stocktakes, reconciliations, record keeping, usage reporting and supporting materials/inventory budgets.
- Experience supporting planned and reactive maintenance, including scheduling, servicing, inspection and compliance requirements for tools, plant, trailers and equipment, with sound knowledge of WHS, risk management and safe warehouse practices.
- Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with employees, managers, contractors and suppliers. Forklift licence and current Victorian driver licence required, with willingness to obtain a Medium Rigid truck licence.

- Experience supporting planned and reactive maintenance activities, including coordinating the scheduling, servicing, inspection and compliance requirements of tools, plant, trailers and equipment.
- Knowledge of WHS, risk management and safe warehouse practices.
- Current Victorian Driver Licence, Forklift Licence and willingness to obtain a Medium Rigid Truck Licence.
