About the role

As Technical Officer (Road Corridor Management) you will provide specialist technical assessment and advice to support the safe, compliant and efficient use of council-controlled roads.

With your knowledge of traffic engineering principles and experience in the application of legislation, you will assess heavy vehicle access and road closure permits to council's road reserves.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

- Undertake technical assessments of heavy vehicle access applications and determine appropriate road-use consent conditions
- Assess applications for works on local government-controlled roads and traffic control permits
- Respond to requests related to traffic management and road safety matters
- Conduct field investigations to audit compliance with permit requirements
- Develop strategies that enhance traffic operations and address road use related issues




- Liaise and consult with stakeholders to achieve suitable outcomes for traffic-related issues

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Certificate IV or Diploma in civil engineering, traffic engineering or equivalent qualification
- Current C class driver's licence
- Substantial computer and database skills to assess and process applications
- Experience in granting heavy vehicle access in a local government environment and traffic management design
