Your Opportunity

An opportunity currently exists for an educator to join the Pathology Team in a blended role as a Teacher (0.2fte), and Senior Tutor (0.4fte).

In this role you will be responsible for providing educational delivery in a dual role as Teacher and Senior Tutor for the preparation and delivery of classes and the provision of support to other team educators with tutorials and assessments.

This position reports to the Educational Team Leader.

This is a Temporary Part-time opportunity, to 27 June 2027 unless otherwise determined.

The position will be based primarily at South Bank campus however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.

Key Responsibilities

- Teacher (0.2fte):

- Display teaching competence and a commitment to a student-centred approach.
- Lead and manage effective teaching and learning within classroom, workplace, simulated and online learning environments with a focus on student engagement, progression and success.
- Utilise flexible, blended and inclusive learning techniques, options and products which are responsive to various student cohorts, including commencing students and those with priority needs.
- Design, develop and implement assessment tools and processes that meet industry skills standards (i.e. endorsed components from National Training Packages).
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality of training and assessment provided to students.

Senior Tutor (0.4fte):

- Conduct tutorial activities designed by a supervising teacher, in a range of learning environments, including simulated, workplace, online or other mode of delivery,



to revise and reinforce learning on content that has been previously instructed by a Teacher, Senior Teacher, Leading Vocational Teacher or Educational Team Leader.
- Facilitate learner skill development, provide support and guidance under direction and provide feedback.
- Supervise support and/or contribute to the collection of assessment evidence, under the direction of a Teacher, Senior Teacher, Leading Vocational Teacher or Educational Team Leader.

Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements

Applicants must possess the following:

a. Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed including (or equivalent):

o HLT37415 Certificate III in Pathology Assistance; and

o HLT37215 Certificate III in Pathology Collection.

- current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;
- current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;
- evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment;

b. Possession of one of the following training and assessment credentials:

- TAE40116 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;
- TAE40110 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools;
- TAE50111 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training;
- TAE50116 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or its successor;
- TAE50211 - Diploma of Training Design and Development;
- TAE50216 - Diploma of Training Design and Development, or its successor;
- Higher-level qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland).

Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;

d. Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;

e. Evidence of undertaking career development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment.

Note: Proof of qualifications and industry currency/experience to be provided at interview.
