About the role

We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Warehouse Assistant / Shop Floor Hand to join our team. This is a varied role that combines warehouse responsibilities with assisting on the manufacturing shop floor. The successful applicant will be someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in keeping things organised and is happy to pitch in wherever needed to keep the business running efficiently.

Key responsibilities

Warehouse duties:

- Receiving, checking and storing incoming goods

- Picking and preparing materials and products for production

- Packing and dispatching finished products

- Loading and unloading deliveries

- Maintaining an organised and tidy warehouse

- Stock control and inventory management

- Moving materials around the warehouse and production areas

- Assisting with general warehouse duties as required

- Basic Computer skills

Shop floor / production duties:

- Assisting production staff with day-to-day manufacturing activities

- Preparing and supplying materials to the production team

- Operating machinery and hand tools after training

- Assisting with assembly and fabrication tasks

- Keeping the production area clean, safe and organised

- Following workplace health and safety procedures

- Carrying out general labouring and other tasks as required

- Is reliable, punctual and has a strong work ethic

- Is physically fit and comfortable with manual handling

- Has a practical, hands-on approach to work

- Can work independently as well as part of a team

- Has valuable attention to detail

- Is willing to learn new skills and take on different responsibilities

- Takes pride in maintaining a clean and organised workplace

- Has a positive attitude and is willing to help wherever required

- Must have Forklift License

Previous warehouse, manufacturing, production or labouring experience will be highly regarded, but the right attitude and willingness to learn are just as important
