The role:

Undertake tree planting, watering, formative pruning, mulching, staking, weed spraying, fertilising, installation of trees guards, and other tree planting and maintenance services of selected trees in nature strips, streetscapes and other Council locations across the municipality as required. Delivery and unloading of tree stock, and delivery of resident notification cards. Maintaining trees in holding yards, and general tree yard facility maintenance and irrigation. Assist broader Arbor team with any general Arbor and horticultural tasks including assisting with chainsaw and chipper operations as required. Complete computerised records of work orders and activities on mobile devices. Provide input into the prioritisation of job scheduling and efficient route planning and timing of works across the Municipality. Undertake appropriate traffic and pedestrian management associated with works on nature strips and streetscapes. All tasks performed in accordance with Council Policies and Occupational Health & Safety Guidelines. Provision of effective Customer Service. Reporting of vandalism and damage of Council Property. Adequately maintain council assets. Actively participate as a member of the Parks & Natural Environment Team. Actively contribute to the further development and enhancement of the parks and gardens networks across the Municipality. Undertake and complete relevant training and off-site education.

About you:





To be considered for this position you will have:

Certificate 3 in related field of arboriculture or horticulture. Experience in the provision of relevant horticultural services. Ability to use all required horticultural plant, materials, equipment and resources. Ability to deal effectively with all members of the community and build and maintain positive relationships. Ability to work effectively on own and within a team to achieve goals.
