About the role

We are seeking a caring, patient and reliable Personal Care Worker to live onsite and provide in-home support and companionship for an elderly person living with dementia. The role is focused on helping maintain a safe, comfortable and independent home workplace, while providing respectful and compassionate day-to-day assistance.

Key responsibilities

- Providing companionship, reassurance and dementia-appropriate support

- Assisting with personal care, dressing and daily routines as required

- Preparing meals and assisting with household activities

- Medication prompting and supporting established care routines

- Accompanying the client to appointments, shopping and occasional outings

- Monitoring general wellbeing and communicating any concerns to the family

- Maintaining a safe and tidy home environment

- Providing assistance overnight when reasonably required

About you

- Warm, trustworthy, calm and genuinely enjoys supporting older people

- Previous experience in aged care or dementia care is strongly preferred

- Relevant aged-care qualifications, First Aid/CPR, police check and references are highly regarded

- Live onsite with private accommodation provided as part of the arrangement
