- Lead and develop a team of Mechanical Engineers
- Own mechanical design, technical assurance and quality across power station projects
- Support installation, commissioning, upgrades and long-term asset reliability at remote sites
- Work across generators, cooling, fuel gas, pumping, filtration, piping and plant infrastructure

Zenith Energy is seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership across the design, installation, maintenance and optimisation of our remote power station facilities.

Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of Mechanical Engineers and work closely with Electrical, Controls, Construction, Projects, Technicians, contractors, suppliers and clients.

This is a hands-on leadership role, balancing technical delivery with people leadership, project coordination and continuous improvement.

What you will be doing

- Lead the development, review and approval of mechanical designs, calculations and engineering documentation.
- Provide senior oversight of P&IDs;, PFDs, piping systems, plant layouts and site layouts.
- Lead mechanical engineering support for generator installation,



commissioning, upgrades and supporting infrastructure.
- Manage vendor engagement, technical clarifications, procurement activities, scheduling and performance issues.
- Lead equipment selection and procurement, with a focus on fit-for-purpose and lifecycle value.
- Provide operational guidance to improve long-term maintenance, reliability and performance.
- Ensure designs and engineering quality processes meet Australian Standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage team workload, leave coverage, performance reviews, recruitment and onboarding.

What you will bring

- Degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, suitable for Professional Engineer membership with Engineers Australia.
- At least 10 years’ mechanical engineering experience in a commercial environment.
- Strong experience in mechanical design, calculations and technical documentation, including pipe sizing, flow rates, heat rejection and ventilation requirements.
- Sound knowledge of P&IDs; and process flow diagrams.
- A strong safety record and practical understanding of modern HSE systems.
- The ability to communicate clearly, make sound decisions and manage competing priorities.
- A current manual WA C Class driver’s licence and willingness to travel to remote sites when required.

Experience with AutoCAD,



Revit, SolidWorks or Pronto ERP, together with exposure to power generation systems, compressed air, engine cooling and exhaust, pumping, filtration and fuel gas systems, will be highly regarded.
