Join the City of Karratha as a Youth Officer and help create protected, welcoming and engaging spaces where young people can connect, participate and thrive. We're seeking an enthusiastic and community-focused individual to support the delivery of programs, activities and events that foster inclusion, wellbeing and positive outcomes for local young people aged 11-18 years.

This is a permanent part-time position predominantly based at The Base in Wickham, with occasional travel to other City of Karratha youth facilities to support service delivery. The role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends in line with youth program operations, events and community activities.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Activate our youth facilities by running programs and ensuring they are safe, welcoming, and well-maintained.
- Engage with stakeholders including community groups, contractors, and service providers to enhance youth opportunities.
- Support young people by ensuring their safety and making appropriate referrals when needed
- Be a role model and provide guidance and support to young people.




- Deliver programs that encourage positive socialization and safe recreation for young people aged 11–18

- Respect for cultural diversity and the ability to engage sensitively with people from different backgrounds and experiences.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an understanding of youth wellbeing, duty of care and child protection responsibilities.

What You’ll Bring

- Qualifications or experience in Youth Work, Social Work, Community Services or a related field, along with a Working with Children Check, First Aid Certificate and willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
